“A specialist in self-service distribution, ME Group is among the international market leaders in self-service equipment. The company offers a wide range of solutions such as automatic laundries, printing booths, photo booths and different types of vending machines for the food market.

As part of a product innovation approach and the diversification of its offering, ME Group called on Digitizme to design a new connected fridge concept dedicated to pizza sales via automated distribution.

Named BOXPRESSO, this device is based on a compact connected fridge combined with an integrated pizza oven that handles cooking in a fully automated way. This innovative solution makes it possible to offer a quick-service yet high-quality catering experience without mobilising on-site staff.

For ME Group, the objective was above all to market an autonomous system capable of dispensing and cooking pizzas on demand, while guaranteeing ease of use and technical reliability.

To achieve this, Digitizme created two types of bespoke BOXPRESSO units and managed the overall development of the concept, from technical design to the personalised box design.

To enable remote management, ME Group vending machines were also equipped with DIGIBOX technology: a software layer that makes it possible to manage all functionalities via a bespoke back office, tailored to the operators’ needs.”

A bespoke connected fridge concept

The solution developed for ME Group is based on a connected fridge specially designed to allow a pizza oven to be integrated into the machine itself. Its compact format was designed to meet space constraints, and its customisable design allows it to fit seamlessly into the brand’s universe.

BOXPRESSO machines rely on DIGIBOX technology developed by Digitizme. Thanks to its personalised management dashboard, this smart solution enables remote fleet management, real-time sales analysis, stock monitoring, data collection and promotion management.
